Mr Fix It Plumbing – The Long Beach Plumber

There are many plumbing disasters that can be deadly. As an expert Long Beach Plumber, I feel obligated to share with you of some of the dangers lurking in you home. One area of major concern is your hot water heater.

According to the Consumers Product Safety Commission (CPSC), fires involving gas water heaters result in 316 injuries and 17 deaths per year. A gas water heater can be located in a garage or utility room where it draws in combustion air near ground level. If a hydrocarbon such as gasoline is spilled in the vicinity of the water heater, a fire is extremely likely.

Additionally, the CPSC cites burns as one of the most frequently reported injuries that occur in the home. Each year, a number of these injuries occur as the result of defective hot water heaters or hot water heaters that have been set too high. The typical victims of burn injuries from these defective products are children and the elderly. Source

If you have any problems with your hot water heater, it is always good to consult an expert plumber first before you try to tackle any repairs yourself. Check out the section “Don’t Let This Happen To You” on my website for more information.
